Yes, storage.

Because last June
between us
of the staff and family
a new expression was born

“at the end of October
this ship will enter the port

and in the hold of every ship
cabbage and onion
were two perfect traveling companions

I certainly can’t imagine
Andrea our cook
preparing a soup
for the crew of an eighteenth-century
sailing ship

I see him better in a
medieval Benedictine convent
even if Marta
dressed as a pirate
I see her well

Sorry for the giddy thoughts
of today.

I confess
most of the time
I have a fertile imagination 🤭

I can see a 🐊 face between the layers of the very close-up cabbage leaves I took…

Still too hot for the season (33 C.)

the shadows grow longer and longer on the ground
and the sun is lower

Observing nature
is the luxury that I have been granted
since I moved
to Tuscany.

And observing nature
makes me think
about human beings

How many opportunities
to change course
are given to us
in the rapid passing
of time.

How much do we waste?
It is as if we unconsciously
repeated the same dance
believing we are the first
to take those steps.

So I tell myself: do not lose
the curiosity to listen
with all of yourself.

From listening,
new indications always emerge,
subtle intuitions. They must
be followed. Despite
our fears
(yes, because we all have them!)
and thanked
precisely because we do not know
where they will take us.

Let’s trust!

Happy weekend 🌼

Places reflect the people.

Places often reflect the people who inhabit them.

Recently, I have found myself
within the walls of
beautiful places—perfect places.
However, none of them
left a trace in my memories.

While I was there, I thought,
“There is an absence here, an absence of soul.”

When I think back to
the very first time I entered the kitchen
of San Martino (it was 2004),
there is no light,
color,
or atmosphere
that I cannot recall
just by closing my eyes.

The kitchen was quite different
from how it is today,
but the spirit that hovered then
is the one that waits for me
every morning when I open
the door and say “Good morning.”

At the Fattoria,
the people I work with
are like small, great constellations.
Friendly constellations,
most of the time 😅
Stars that illuminate the path and that
shine even when
the tempest knocks outside.

I believe that these people made
and make this place special

And I believe that you agree with me

Silvia stumbled upon
a roe deer in the middle of the vineyard.
It stood motionless,
its intense gaze locked with ours.

The encounter evoked
a mix of emotions -
tenderness, and joy.

Although we often
come across roe deer families,
each sighting feels
as enchanting as the first.

Encounters with wildlife
have a way of awakening
ancient memories and emotions within us,
dating back to the Stone Age
I think.
